Islam is at the crossroads. The international community is struggling to understand the influence of Islam and the happenings in most Muslim nations. The mass media paints Muslims as fundamentalists and terrorists. The stereotyped image of Islam and Muslims is causing disgust and distrust among the believers
The students and youth are confused as to what is the reality behind the people who call themselves as Muslims and why extremist tendencies are coming to fore in the international arena.
The need of the hour is the presentation of Islam as it is. In a fresh and relevant context. In clear and precise terms. Straight from the Scripture of Islam and the life and teachings of its Prophet.
Secondly, the moral degradation with which the world is growing at an alarming rate demands people to adopt ethics and excellence in every field of human activity. Be it individual or collective, spiritual or social, educational or recreational.
As an experienced teacher of Islamic Studies, I aim to deliver the goods and facilitate things showing directions to the students so that they can continue to be good in academics and become better human beings adopting humanism – the essence of Islam – in their thoughts and deeds.
In this way, I feel I can achieve the twin objectives: Of making my livelihood meaningful and contributing towards the development of a healthy society where peace remains the meat of the matter.
