Ministry Exam in Sharjah, May/June 2017

Today we got the Portion for the Ministry Exam to be conducted in the Emirate of Sharjah for the Year ending 2016-17.

Grade 10, 11 and 12 will write their Islamic Studies Exam on 29th May 2017.

And Grades 6 to 9 will have theirs on 8th June 2017.

Who is bothered when boys attain puberty?

When a female child in a Muslim family gets her first menses, the whole family gets to know about it!  Boys in the family start giggling that something has happened to their sister or cousin. Some shameless Muslim families even ‘celebrate’ the occasion! ‘Our daughter has attained puberty’!

In case of boys, neither the boy knows the Islamic indication and implication of attaining puberty nor his parents bother to teach him the etiquette of puberty and the responsibilities it brings alongside.  Continue reading →

Numbers in the Qur’an

Taking these two sayings of our glorious Prophet sal-lal-laahu-alaihi-wa-sallam, as a motivation, I thought of compiling the numbers used in the Qur’an so that when we learn and say them, we can expect a reward from Allah, InshaaAllah.

1. “Whoever recites a letter from the Book of Allah, he will be credited with a good deed, and a good deed gets a ten-fold reward. I do not say that ألم Alif-Lam-Meem is one letter, but Alif is a letter, Lam is a letter and Meem is a letter.” At-Tirmidhi, Riyaadhus Saliheen
