Ans. Abu Hurayrah (R.A) narrated that Rasoolulah said, “ Whoever enters Paradise will be entertained and will never suffer. His clothes will never fade and his youth will never end. In Paradise there is what an eye has never seen, what an ear has never heard and what a heart has never thought of.”   Continue reading

Arafah: What a Great Day This Is! Subhanallaah!

bismillah

11th September 2016 is the Day of Arafah / 9th Dhul Hijjah 1437.

Presenting here a collection of ahaadeeth on the significance and virtues of the Day of Arafah.

In addition, a few Jumu’ah Khutbahs on Arafah and Eid al Adhaa are also given here.

Fasting on the day of Arafah is an expiation for two years:

The ninth day of Dhul-Hijjah is the day of ’Arafah, since it is on this day that the pilgrims gather at the mountain plain of ’Arafah, praying and supplicating to their Lord. It is mustahabb (highly recommended) for those who are not pilgrims to fast on this day, since the Prophet (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) was asked about fasting on the day of ’Arafah, so he said, “It expiates the sins (Minor) of the past year and the coming year.” [Muslim (no. 1162)] Imaam at-Tirmidhee said, “The People of Knowledge consider it recommended to fast on the day of ’Arafah, except for those at ’Arafah.” [Muslim (no. 1348)]

Allah frees slaves from the fire on Arafat more than any other day

Likewise, the Prophet (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) said, ‘There is no day on which Allaah frees people from the Fire more so than on the day of ’Arafah. He comes close to those (people standing on ’Arafah), and then He revels before His Angels saying, ‘What are these people seeking.” [Jaami’ut-Tirmidhee (3/377)]

Forgiveness of the Sins even if they are like the foam on the Sea

As for you staying till the evening in Arafah, then Allaah descends to the sky of the Dunya and He boasts about you to the Angels, and says: ‘My slaves have come to Me, looking rough, from every deep valley hoping for My mercy, so if your sins were equivalent to the amount of sand or the drops of rain or like the foam on the sea I will forgive them. So go forth My slaves! Having forgiveness and for what or who you have interceded for.’ [Reported by at-Tabarani in his book “al-Kabeer” and by al-Bazaar. Shaykh Al-Albani graded it Hassan. Taken from ‘Saheeh al-Targheeb wa Tarheeb’. Volume 2,Page 9-10, hadeeth no. 1112]

It is the day on which the religion was perfected and Allaah’s Favour was completed:

In Al-Saheehayn it was reported from ‘Umar ibn al-Khattaab (may Allaah be pleased with him) that a Jewish man said to him, “O Ameer al-Mu’mineen, there is an aayah in your Book which you recite; if it had come to us Jews, we would have taken that day as an ‘Eid (festival).” ‘Umar said, “Which aayah?” He said: “This day I have perfected your religion for you, completed My favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion.” [al-Maa’idah 5:3 – interpretation of the meaning]. ‘Umar said, “We know on which day and in which place that was revealed to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). It was when he was standing in ‘Arafaah on a Friday.”

Allaah expresses His pride to His angels:

It was reported from Ibn ‘Umar that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Allaah expresses His pride to His angels at the time of ‘Ishaa’ on the Day of ‘Arafaah, about the people of ‘Arafaah. He says, ‘Look at My slaves who have come unkempt and dusty.’” Narrated by Ahmad and classed as saheeh by al-Albaani.

The standing on ‘Arafaat is the hajj:

The standing on ‘Arafaat is the hajj. The crowds should remind you of the Day of Resurrection. Humble yourself to Allaah, manifest your ‘uboodiyyah to Him Alone through du’aa, sincere intention and strong determination to free yourself from the sins of the past and to build up a commitment to rush for doing what is good. Think of becoming a better person when you return. Rid yourself of false pride and showing off because it may ruin what you gain on this day.

Are you ready to take up the assignment?

When you go for thematic memorization, it becomes more challenging.

Facts about Israa wal Me’raaj

Rain, Rain, Come Again!

bismillah

Thursday, the 10th March 2016 is declared holiday for all Government and private schools in UAE 🙂

Here is some beautiful info on rain and our beloved Prophet’s attitude, du’aa and adhkaar……

For people who live in a desert, rain is unusual.

And this once-in-a-blue-moon thing is happening in the United Arab Emirates!

Man, however, is an extremist by nature. When there is no rain, he yearns for it. And when it rains, he becomes restless and shows signs of ingratitude.

As a Muslim we need to know that our Prophet sal-lal-laahu-alaihi-wa-sallam not only sought rain but when it rained, he also enjoyed it as much as he could.

How amazing it would be if we also did as the Messenger of Allah did!

Read the following hadeeths:

Abu Saeed al Khudri, one of the beloved companions of the Messenger of Allah, narrates:

“A cloud came and it rained till the roof started leaking and in those days the roof used to be of the branches of date-palms. Iqama was pronounced and I saw Allah’s Messenger (sal-lal-laahu-alaihi-wa-sallam) prostrating in water and mud and even I saw the mark of mud on his forehead.” Sahih al Bukhari

Another great companion, Anas bin Malik radhiyallahu anhu, says

“I saw rain water trickling down his beard”. (Read the first hadeeth in this link)

Our glorious Prophet sal-lal-laahu-alaihi-wa-sallam use to make this beautiful du’aa during rain:

 اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ صَيِّبًا نَافِعًا …. O Allah! Make it a Beneficial Rain.

This du’aa is to be said upon hearing thunder:

Following are some of the other du’aas (Supplications) for and during rain:

In Arabic Dua in Arabic
In English ‘O Allaah, send upon us helpful, wholesome and healthy rain, beneficial not harmful rain, now, not later.’
In Arabic Dua in Arabic
In English ‘O Allaah, relieve us, O Allaah, relieve us, O Allaah, relieve us.’

In Arabic Dua in Arabic
In English ‘O Allaah, provide water for Your servants and Your cattle, spread out Your mercy and resurrect Your dead land.’

Here are some du’aas (supplications) to be said during windstorm, thunderstorm or hurricanes:

Dua in Arabic

‘O Allah, I ask You for it’s goodness and I take refuge with You from it’s evil.’

Dua in Arabic

“O Allah, I ask You for it’s goodness, the good within it, and the good it was sent with, and I take refuge with You from it’s evil, the evil within it, and from the evil it was sent with.”

“O Allah, don’t end our lives with Your wrath, and do not make us perish with Your punishment and forgive us before that.”

The du’aa in the picture below is the supplication to be made after the rainfall.

This du’aa is in fact an expression of one’s gratitude to one’s Creator for His blessings and mercy.

Also, we need to make more and more du’aa and seek forgiveness when it rains as it is one of the Best Times to make du’aa.

Dear brothers and sisters, if possible try to go out in rain and make prostration in water and mud and have a mark of mud on your foreheads as did our Role Model.

Boys can pray outside the Masjid just two Ra’kah nafl and enjoy water falling on you.

Sal-lal-laahu-‘Ala Muhammad, Sal-lal-laahu-Alaihi-wa-sallam.

Jazakallahu Khayra for reading this post.
