Alternatives to Memorizing the Qur’an

bismillah

Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu.

As some may find it difficult to memorize the selected portion given in the previous post or some may not like the unconventional style of doing Hifdh of the verses selected on thematic basis, I am presenting the memorization schedule in a different way.

Here are some Alternatives to Memorizing the glorious Qur’an in the month of Shabaan and Ramadhaan, InshaaAllah.

You can choose from the options and stick on to the schedule with determination, InshaaAllah:

a. SURAHS THAT CAN BE MEMORIZED IN ONE MONTH:

* Surah al Mulk – Total 30 verses – 1 Ayah per day = Complete Surah in one month

* Surah Yaseen – Total 83 verses – 3 Ayaats per day = Complete Surah in one month

* Surah Rahman – Total 86 verses – 3 Ayaats Per day = Complete Surah in one month

* Surah al Waaqi’ah – Total 96 verses – 4 Aayaats Per day = Complete Surah in 24 days + 5 days to revise = You learn the full Surah in one month.

So if you select two out of four of the above mentioned Surahs, you can easily memorize 2 Surahs in Shabaan and Ramadhaan respectively, InshaaAllah

b. SURAH OR JUZ THAT CAN BE MEMORIZED IN TWO MONTHS:

* Surah al Kahf – Total 110 verses – 2 Aayats per day = Full Surah in 55 days = You learn the complete Surah al Kahf in 2 months

Juz ‘Amm = The 30th Part of the Qur’an is called Juz ‘Amm.

It has 37 Surahs in all. Some of the short surahs you must be already knowing by heart, right? If you deduct those, then you will be able to memorize the entire Juz in two months, inshaaAllah.

Follow this simple method:

Juz ‘Amm is spread over 23 pages (As per Madinah Mus’haf)

Take half a page in a day. Allot 40 days for memorization, and the rest of the days for revision. So 40 x 1/2 = 20 pages = Full Juz ‘Am in 2 months.

or Follow the break-up schedule given below, InshaaAllah:

  1. Salaam u alakum

Can you please post the answers of the lesson prophet mohamed passes to jannah and patience and preservance in daily life

  2. As Salaam Wa alaikum wa rehmatullahi wa baraktuhu,
Brother,Hope your doing good yaa Mujtaba, by the Way I am Suhel from India Mumbai, staying in Sharjah.
First of all I like the work you are doing here Alhamdullilah and may Allah grant you with more success in this here and hereafter.
Well Other than the comment above I have two Questions ( Don’t worry not the academic questions🙂 ) to ask you if you can answer them.
    1. My Son is 6yrs Old in grade 1 and will be back from vacation at end of August 2016, so I want him to start Hifz and learn Qura’an, I am finding something near Abu-Shagara Sharjah, Do you have any suggestions?

    2. Is there some similar plan for memorizing Surah Baqarah, pardon me as I didn’t saw your entire blog and would ask you to direct me to some plan if it already exists?
Please share some more guidance to learn Qura’an with me as till this Ramadan I was a Muslim only by name and in a process to walk the right path InshaAllah.

    • Wa alaikumus salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu.

      Alhamdulillaahi rabbil ‘aalameen.
Jazakallaahu Khayra for your kind words.

      1) King Faisal Mosque is nearby to start.
If you have issues with transportation, then you can contact masajid in al Khan area where they have good provision for kids.
      2) Surah al baqarah is the longest Surah of the Qur’an which contains 286 verses. It is up to individuals to plan to achieve the target.
The plan will differ from person to person. In the ‘Alternatives to Memorizing the Qur’an’ post I have just given some models, that’s it brother.
May Allah bless you and shower upon you His choicest blessings both in this world and in the Hereafter.
