1. What is the story of behind the revelation of the ayaat of this lesson?
The pagans used to gather around Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to listen to him as he was reading the Qur’an. But instead of learning the Qur’an, they would say it was lie and make fun of it. They used to disrespect the Muslims and say about the companions, “If these poor people will go to Paradise, we will enter it before them. Then we will have more in it than them”.
Allah, in these verses, speaks to these arrogant pagans and reminds them that He created them from nothing!
2. What warning did Allah give to the arrogant disbelievers?
Allah warns them saying that He can easily destroy them and create other people better than them. He also warns them that they may continue to play around and reject the truth, but they will finally die. Then Allah will bring them up from their graves and will question them about their deeds on the Day of Judgement.
