SURAH AL ZILZAAL

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ 
إِذَا زُلْزِلَتِ الأرْضُ زِلْزَالَهَا (١)
وَأَخْرَجَتِ الأرْضُ أَثْقَالَهَا (٢)
وَقَالَ الإنْسَانُ مَا لَهَا (٣)
يَوْمَئِذٍ تُحَدِّثُ أَخْبَارَهَا (٤)
بِأَنَّ رَبَّكَ أَوْحَى لَهَا (٥)
يَوْمَئِذٍ يَصْدُرُ النَّاسُ أَشْتَاتًا لِيُرَوْا أَعْمَالَهُمْ (٦)
فَمَنْ يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ خَيْرًا يَرَهُ (٧)
وَمَنْ يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ شَرًّا يَرَهُ (٨)
   In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
1. When the earth will be shaken with her (Final) earthquake,
2. And the earth will throw out her burdens,
3. And man will cry out: What is the matter with it?
4. On that day she will recount her news,
5. As your Sustainer will have inspired her to do so,
6. On that day, all men will come forward, cut off from one another, so that they may be shown their deeds. 7. So he who shall have done an atom’s weight of good shall see it,
8. And he who shall have done an atom’s weight of evil shall see it.

Questions and Answers: 


1. What will happen with the coming of the final earthquake? 
The earth will throw out all its burdens.

2. What is indicative of the final earthquake? 
It will indicate the end of this world and the coming of the Day of Judgment.


3. What will be man’s reaction?
Running here and there, man will cry out, ‘what is the matter with the earth’?


4. On the Day of Judgment, where will men be advancing? And Why? 
They will be advancing towards their Lord in order to see the result of their deeds.


5. “So he who shall have done an atom’s weight of good shall see it”. Explain.
On the Day of Judgment, every human being who had done even a small good deed, as insignificant as the weight of an atom, will find its reward will Allah.


6. “So he who shall have done an atom’s weight of evil shall see it”. Explain.
On the Day of Judgment, every human being who had done even a small evil deed, as insignificant as the weight of an atom, will find its punishment will Allah.

7. What does this Surah inculcates in the minds and hearts of mankind? 
This Surah alerts mankind against the coming of the Day of Judgment, when Allah will question about all our deeds which we do in this world. This Surah also inculcates that we should keep doing good deeds even though they may be of small nature, and avoid evil deeds even though they may be of small nature.
